Dr. Abdolkarim Afrozeh, President of Larestan Higher Education Complex, issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of Engineer’s Day, February 24th. The message reads as follows:

Engineer’s Day is an opportunity to appreciate the relentless efforts of engineers in the fields of science and technology. Engineering is not just a profession; it is an art that blends creativity, innovation, and knowledge. As students of this field, you are the future of our society and will play a significant role in the progress of our country.

In today’s rapidly evolving world, where technology is constantly changing, engineers, with their innovative ideas and solutions, can address major challenges and contribute to sustainable development. We take great pride in you as you strive on this path.

On this special day, I hope you always remain motivated and passionate about learning and, through perseverance, reach the heights of success.

On the occasion of February 24th, which has been designated as Engineer’s Day in honor of the birth anniversary of Khajeh Nasir al-Din Tusi, the brilliant and creative Iranian scholar, I extend my congratulations to all esteemed scholars, professors, and especially the engineering students of Larestan Higher Education Complex. I sincerely hope that, with the dedication and determination of our engineers, we will witness even greater advancements for our great nation, Iran.

According to the Public Relations Office of Larestan Higher Education Complex, Dr. Ali Talehzadeh Lari, a faculty member of the complex and the plenipotentiary representative of the National Organization for Educational Testing in the 2025 Master’s and Doctoral Examinations, stated that this year, candidates from the cities of Larestan, Khonj, Gerash, Owz, and Juyom participated in the master’s and doctoral exams hosted by Larestan Higher Education Complex. Given the successful administration of various entrance exams by the National Organization for Educational Testing in Larestan, this year as well, the complex hosted candidates from several southern Fars counties on February 21 and 22.

He continued: “On February 21, the master’s and doctoral exams were held, and on February 22, the complex hosted candidates for the master’s exam.” Dr. Talehzadeh Lari further explained that a total of 875 candidates competed in various fields alongside applicants from across the country, of whom 406 were women and 469 were men.

He added: “In ensuring the successful organization of this exam, in addition to the executive team, which undertook significant efforts, various departments also played a role. I extend my sincere gratitude to all of them. Additionally, I would like to specially thank Engineer Daman-Keshan, the head of the Larestan Electricity Department, for his exceptional cooperation in ensuring a stable power supply for the exam venues.”

The second round of the Professorial Excellence Program commenced at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, with the presence of the Deputy Minister of Culture and Social Affairs of the Ministry of Science and the university’s acting president.

According to the Public Relations Office of the Ministry of Science, the opening ceremony featured speeches by Dr. Vahid Shalchi, Deputy Minister of Culture and Social Affairs; Dr. Abdolreza Javan Bojnordi, Acting President of Ferdowsi University of Mashhad; Dr. Mohammad Mahdi Zolfaqarzadeh, Director of the Professorial Excellence Program; and Dr. Ali Akbar Mousavi Moheddi, a distinguished professor.

This initiative is designed to enhance mentorship skills among newly recruited faculty members at universities. It covers key competencies such as the art of learning and teaching, classroom management, academic and pedagogical ethics, and an introduction to Iran’s Islamic-Iranian cultural heritage.

Beyond interactive training workshops, the program includes ceremonial events, experience-sharing sessions with senior faculty members, specialized roundtable discussions on industry and society relations, and a review of the Ministry of Science’s regulations and policies.

The first edition of the Professorial Excellence Program was held in October last year, and the second round is being conducted from February 11 to 15, 2025, specifically for faculty members recruited in 2023 and 2024 at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad.

It is noteworthy that 180 newly appointed faculty members from 70 universities nationwide are participating in this program. Among them are Dr. Mohsen Simab and Dr. Sepideh Yazdi, faculty members of Electrical Engineering at the Higher Education Complex of Lar.
